Spring is starting to stir in the orchard.
The days are getting longer, the trees are beginning to wake up and before long the orchard will start changing almost daily - buds swelling, blossom opening, bees moving through the rows and new growth appearing everywhere.
It’s one of our favourite times of year, and this spring we’re opening the orchard a little differently.
For six selected days during the September school holidays, we’ll be welcoming visitors for Spring at Apteds - a relaxed seasonal experience designed around the orchard itself.
Families can follow the Spring Discovery Trail, take on the Little Growers Orchard Quest, enjoy Orchard Play and Spring Photo Stops, then settle in for a picnic beneath the trees.
Across selected days, there’ll also be visiting food, coffee, live music, entertainment and seasonal activities, giving each visit something a little different.
Blossom will naturally be one of the beautiful parts of spring, but anyone who has spent time on a farm knows that nature doesn’t follow a calendar. Spring at Apteds is about enjoying the whole season - not just trying to catch one perfect weekend.
And this year, spring is only the beginning.
Later in the season, we’ll be opening for our first-ever cherry Pick Your Own season, giving visitors the chance to return and see the orchard at another stage - from spring blossom and new growth through to summer fruit.
Spring at Apteds runs on 19, 20, 21, 22, 24 and 25 September from 10am–3pm.
Early Bird tickets are now available for a limited time.
If you’ve been looking for an easy country escape these school holidays, somewhere the kids can explore and the adults can slow down for a while, we’d love to welcome you to the orchard.
